Definitely trying to capture the Steve Perry Journey sound. I kept hearing "Girl Can't Help It" as I listened to the song. Again - not to beat a dead horse - but I guess they finally admit that SP's Journey is Journey and now they are officially admitting to imitating it.

Meh. Reminded me of Be Good To Yourself. I won't be buying it, especially since they had the nerve to include a disc of re-recorded classics - I have enough beer coasters. Guy can imitate Perry but he has no feeling(?) soul(?) heart(?) in his singing. Don't know what I'm trying to say, but I know it's just not the same. I heard the guy is already having voice problems too. Maybe we should start a betting pool on how long this one will last?

Yup, he'll be lipping before the end of the summer tour and gone by the end of the year. All the clips are available at Wal-Mart Downloads site if anyone is interested. The only classic I listened to was Stone In Love and it was unbelievably bad. What were they thinking?

I'm not even interested in hearing the classics sung by Arnel, that's not meant to be mean towards him, but I feel those are Perry's songs and NO ONE can do it better than him. As for listening to their new music... I've heard a couple of the songs, Arnel has a nice voice, and the music is ok, but I'm not buying the new Journey cd. I don't care how close they think they get to having a singer that sounds like Perry or whatever, I just want the REAL DEAL...Steve Perry!!! And Yes, I know I can't have that, but dang it, I still WANT it that way!!! ;D As for the bet on Arnel, I don't have a clue as to how long the vocals can hold out for him, but I'll just say, I wish him well.

Well at least Neal finally got smart and stopped trying to call the band Journey. The "New Journey" is not even in the same league as "Journey", the Perry years.:

The songs they played on Rockline sounded very ??thin?? I kept wondering how they would sound if Perry sang them.
I think people should use the re recorded classic discs as frizbees at the concerts. Make sure they all land at Neal's feet.

Arden, I would do that - if I was going to buy it. Or go to the concert lol.

I just heard the re-recorded classic clips on Youtube. How ridiculous to do that! Who on earth (unless you are from Arnel's home country or his good friend) would you want that included in with their new CD? I guess they couldn't get the record deal with Walmart without the Perry-era hits. Just goes to show they STILL can't get off of his coat tails! They'd rather take a deal that forces them to re-record the hits a million more times than stand on their own with just new material.

The rerecords are not even as good as the tributes bands, regardless of the fact that it's the original band doing the dirty deed.

I can't figure that out either, it's pointless. Who would listen to this when you can listen to the Perry ones? Sounds like more of Neal's "this-is-my-band-not-Perry's" ego trip to me. Oh well. I saw it in Walmart the other day for $11.88 if that tells you anything.
