The link was posted at BT & PV for those that haven't read it. I don't want to bring it here because of copyright issues, but thought we might want to discuss what he said. I didn't know that seeing Freddie Mercury and Queen were such defining moments in his musical career. That was interesting. He seems to be opening up about what the other band members are doing that bugs him. I know most of the Perry fan all over it in a heartbeat when Neal & co. use Steve as their "pawn of hope" to draw in fans. I'm glad Steve is aware of what goes on, too. Funny how he mentioned Sam Cooke could sing the phone book and you'd love it. "He had a believability of heart". What a great description! Reminds me of how we all struggle to describe Steve and now he has stated it so simply.

I read the article and It is a great article! I thought it was cool the way he he talked about Sam Cook . It shows that HE feels much "like us" about one of his favorite singers, like WE do about him!
I thought it was good that Perry stated that publicly. It let's the fans know that he doesn't appreciate the band members "using him" to mislead the fans into thinking that HE MIGHT show up, just so they can have more people show for their concerts & get their money.
The fans that Keep up on the information & happenings of the band members most likely DO KNOW that Perry won't perform with the band. It is the casual fans who are probaly NOT keeping up with the current happenings of the band members that could be mislead into thinking that Perry Might show at the concerts to sing with the band. I think it is great that Perry set everyone straight, & let us know that HE is aware of the band members misleading the fans that way. IT SHOWS HE REALLY CARES ABOUT THE FANS, he doesn't want them to be tricked!
I can never come up with that right words or enough word to describe how I feel about Perry's singing & talent. I know he was talking about Sam Cook, but he certainly did give a "perfect description" for us to say about HIS singing & talent!!!

Good article. I like how he gives tribute to Freddie Mercury. I agree about what he says about his feelings of "being used" for the new Journey. It's really sad, but that shows they need him a lot

Can you please let me know what they are so that I can read the article? Thanks! Angie

Tehy most certainly were using that "you never now" bit, to draw a crowd but as you can see by the poor sales & or gate recipts that this "new Journey" could not survive without name droping of one talented Steve Perry. Just goees to show not everyone is gulible. So sad though it will always remain in the garage band stages.
