Thanks Mitch! Highlights? How much will we miss of your original interview? The part where you mentioned he discussed the technical aspects of recording the DVD, or more than that?

I have NO idea how much of the original 53 minutes is being used. I do know that it will be spread out over the entire 4 hour show -- which BTW -- airs from 6PM to 10PM EASTERN time zone.....
I'm looking forward to hearing it to... hope they do it justice!

Just finished listening to the interview segments. Four hours of listening for such a small amount of the interview was really frustrating! It was good to hear him speak a little bit from the transcript we already read. He really had a nasty cold! The main feeling I am taking away from what I've just heard is that he has been through ALOT and you can hear it in his voice...the years of touring...the relatives dying...working so hard on TBF only to see it all go down the drain when he had to face a hip replacement at his age....his bandmates not supporting him or respecting the Journey legacy he spent years building. Then....reliving it all on film while producing the DVD, realizing how long ago that was and thinking AGAIN about what they did to him and to Journey. Hearing him is so different from reading a transcript. You could feel the emotion in his voice, just like when he sings. Anyone else have a take on the interview tidbits?

It did sound like Perry had a real bad cold, and it would have been great to hear the whole interview, but I'm GLAD that we got to hear what was played. Hey, it is ALWAYS BETTER to HEAR Perry talk, than to read the transcripts.
You could definitely hear the emotion in his voice & that he had gone through ALOT of VERY difficult times in his life & that reliving those difficult times was not easy for him in making the DVD.
As a fan though, I'm VERY thankful & grateful that he was willing to make this DVD for the fans, it will be treasured forever!!!
And thanks to Mitch for getting a great interview from Perry for us fans to enjoy!!

As you all know -- I had no control in the amount of clips played or what clips were chosen -- I'm glad it was on though!
I'll see if I can find a site willing to host the entire interview.... I have it on mini-disc......

Thanks Mitch! That would be great. We hear so few things from Steve and your interview was so "real" that we hate to miss hearing the whole thing, knowing you have it all taped.

Hearing him is so different from reading a transcript. You could feel the emotion in his voice, just like when he sings. Anyone else have a take on the interview tidbits? I missed the first hour, but I heard him talking about how hard doing the latest dvd was emotionally. I hope it doesn't discourage him from doing more of them. It was funny at one point when he couldn't think of something he wanted to say and blamed it on a lack of oxygen to his brain from his stuffy nose, lol. It also sounded like he is still pretty angry (or disgusted, or both) toward Neal & co., - which is totally understandable - even though he didn't come right out and say anything much. It was the tone of his voice when he said "they gave me an ultimatum and I don't respond well to ultimatums" It's so much nicer to hear an interview than just read it! I enjoyed the rest of the program too, they played some good songs. :Dsparkle

The written interview was better! The radio version just plain stunk because the dj was trying to make everyone think he was interviewing Steve not mitch, and that he was in the studio with him by saying "and my cohost tonight is Steve Perry" how lame is that.
