I read where Perry mentioned that about the band saying,"you never know if Perry will attend" and thought it was misleading the fans into thinking that he might be at one of their concerts.
If the fans thought Perry might attend they would flock to the concerts. The band should garner their own crowd on their own merits, or lack of, which is more the case, imo.

Amen, happycamper! There have been so many things that the current lineup have done to try to get themselves noticed and it always requires the mention of, or the vocals of Perry. It didn't matter if it was a radio promo or promo at the venue. It was Steve's voice....the voice of Journey doing the promoting. I'm glad he is finally speaking out about it. Thanks for the link, Bill!

Humbly apologize for the additional thread.
Was hoping that people would comment. My 2 cents - hoping it would generate more articles on SP since they would see interest.

A little blurb from Oregonlive.com about Steve's FTLOSM bassist: (They neglected to mention that Todd's hair was still awesome in the 90's!)
"Todd Jensen has played bass guitar for David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper and Steve Perry, suggesting he is skilled in two key areas: rock-steady riffing and fitting into extremely tight pants. Now the Portland lad is reuniting with Greg Georgeson, David Wall and Grant Roholt, his pals from '80s band Sequel, to record a new CD. No word yet on how much of that awesome '80s hair is still viable. "
