The downside I saw to Steve appearing at the WOF was the way that it was used to benefit the current lineup...even Neal's solo CD was plugged unmercifully amid all the excitement about Perry attending. It's nice to know that Perry is wise to what they are doing.

PERRY AVOIDS BANDMATES

Former JOURNEY frontman STEVE PERRY refuses to contact his ex-bandmates, because he fears any show of unity will spark rumours they are to reform.

The OPEN ARMS hitmaker is determined to end speculation of a comeback tour, after his brief appearance at his Hollywood Walk Of Fame honouring in January last year (05), triggered hope among fans.

He says, "I showed up because the thought came to me that if anybody deserved to be there, I deserved to be there too.

"One of the things that makes it difficult to have contact with the members is that as a result of going the Star Walk of Fame and showing up at the last minute, some of the members have used that on some of their promotional radio interviews.

"So if there's anything that keeps me from contacting the members it's that it's always turned into something else and I don't to participate in that sort of thing."

Yes, it is a real shame that the current line up has to "use" Perry in promoting themselves, but that only proves how badly they REALLY NEED Perry for THEM to be successful in the music business!

I don't know why they would use that to get people to come and see them.
I mean they claim so much success without Perry yet they sing his music and
use his name. This current line up never took off from the garage band stage.
This lead singer has nothing to do with it I feel truly bad for him they never gave
him room to flourish. They should have started a new band with Augeri instead of
making him sing songs that fit him too big!

It's sad that Steve,is still used by unjourney it makes me sick to see it.It just goses to show they neeed him .But see Steve is a very smart man and he knows this.He always takes the high road so let them keep taking the low road.
