blogs.mercurynews.com/aei/2006/04/cloned_lead_sin.htmlThis is annoying on a lot of levels. News flash for this guy, people still buy concert tickets because they are usually opening for someone decent like Styx or Def Leppard. And because some casual fans probably don't know they're not getting the real deal until the "clone" appears...and I'm sorry but calling Steve A. a "lookalike and soundalike" is just ridiculous, these people must be blind as well as deaf. sparkle

The guy seems to be short on facts. Augeri wasn't with a tribute band...or any band before working with Journey. He was working at the Gap. At least he noted that the new CD bombed. He got that right. In reading some of the comments after the article. No one mentioned that the biggest difference between Journey and Queen and INXS' situations, is that Steve Perry is still very much alive and well. blogs.mercurynews.com/aei/2006/04/cloned_lead_sin.htmlThis is annoying on a lot of levels. Yes, I know. He was also in one called Tyketto or something. I wasn't clear. I meant that he wasn't hired out of any band by Journey. he was in a band before called "tall stories". s

There may have been a third band.
I remember reading an article about another situation where he replaced a popular lead singer and they never quite made it. I'm not sure, though, if it was Tyketto, Tall Stories or another band altogether.
