He had some interesting comments on SA/JSS/Perry. I agree with his thoughts that SA was trying too hard to be Perry. www.melodicrock.com/interviews/sammyhagar.htmlAndrew:What do you think of their decision to go with Jeff Scott Soto as vocalist, standing in for Steve Augeri. Hagar: I think it's really too bad for Steve as he is a great guy and he meant well. But he got so hung up on trying to be Steve Perry that I think it took him down. Jeff's a great singer…Jeff's the real deal. Jeff's himself…he sings like Jeff Scott Soto. He doesn't sing like somebody else and that's what they needed all along because the rest of the guys in the band are that talented – that good. So I think it will turn out to be a good move, just too bad it happened so late…and too bad for Steve, cause Steve did a great job filling in for Steve Perry for so many years, because that's what he was doing. Now maybe Journey can reinvent themselves.

Thanks! Gotta love Sammy. He's a Schon cheerleader but at least he doesn't diss Steve, and he seemed to be right on the money with his SA/JSS comments. Shame about Eddie VH, I've read similar stuff about him recently, and in some recent photos, he looks like a crazed homeless person. I feel sorry for him & his family.

Great interview by Sammy! He sure hit the nail on the head about "SA trying to be Steve Perry", and about JSS NOT trying to be anybody else, but his own self.
It is sad what Sammy had to say about Eddie, but still wish him well.
