Odd?

JSS recently sang CUPID!!! at a Journey concert. Is it just me, or does anyone else think this is over the top copying what Steve did? I think it is beyond weird. I mean, what's next? Tux tails and some FTLOSM tunes? You'd think Neal would cringe at Cupid and he HAD to know and allow him to sing it. They aren't doing anything new or different, so I don't know why anybody is that excited or impressed with what they are doing in concert. I'm glad Soto has a better, stronger voice than Augeri, but their lack of new material and their OWN creativity is getting on my nerves! LOL!!

I thought that was odd too. But I read an interview a while back where JSS was talking about how much Steve had influenced him so maybe it was some sort of a tribute thing. I doubt Neal will rock the boat about anything JSS does as long as he's getting them a steady paycheck. I heard they're even doing some ROR stuff, and you know that's gotta be killing the Guitar God lol.

Yea, I too think it is odd. It does seem that he is trying to copy our Steve. Why the need to copy Steve??? Why not come up with another song, and show off his OWN talent & creativity??? That would have been the smart thing for him to do, this is HIS opportunity to show more of HIMSELF.

Besides that is what alot fans said they didn't like Augeri for cause he TRYED to be like Steve Perry. And WE ALL KNOW there is NO ONE that CAN SING like Steve Perry!!! And that is why I continue to stick with Steve Perry!!!

I could be wrong but I think that it was just one line that Steve used within an Journey song. JSS is trying to copy all the little trademarks that Steve instilled in a song that made the song his. How can these guys ever expect the Perry fans to give them the time of day when they pull these stunts? He is trying to be more of a Perry wannabe than Augeri ever was, imo.
