I had a thought that came from the discussion toward the very end of the interview about his singing and "the people/fans". Maybe what SP needs to do is simply book a few shows - nothing supero fancy so as to make additional stress etc. You know something stripped down garage band style - him and "da band" and sing live before fans. Not go work in a studio on new material. Not get typed in all the business end cr** just the part he absolutely loves and apparently thrives on. Fan Asylum of course could work and book the events scattered across the states. Maybe 10 shows to start. Not huge arenas and the like - places that intimately hold 1-5 thousand people and let him do what he loves do. What do you think?

I know I would be there! I wonder if Steve would feel as though a small intimate tour idea would be admitting defeat or be embarassing to him vs the large draw of the Journey tours, altho I sure do think he could pack in some mid sized venues, heck when I was trying to get FTLOSM ticks shows were selling out as fast as they opened the phone lines, i started calling at 945 am for 10am ticketsales, and got nosebleed seats as first available choice and I was lucky to get those even! In the end i just hope he does what makes him happy, touring again, singing again, another cruise (id love that idea), even a vegas show whatever if it works for him fills his needs and wants and yet still gives him balance in life that is all I could wish and hope for him to have - happiness. I think it is a lot like sports stars, when they stop playing they really have that urge to go back to the game one more time, then their brains kick in and remind them of the negatives (tour bus, too many hotels, long schedules, no normal schedules, big workload etc) yet the game (or in Steve's case the connection with fans and singing) is a huge high or buzz for them that pump they get from knowing what that feels like is probably harder to give up than any drug on the planet. If nothing else someday soon I hope he decides to release more from the vaults that we haven't heard, and or considers a book or christmas cd or something (anything) he tossed the book idea around in an interview once but it never came to the surface (officially I mean his words). I think it is a great idea, but would he be happy with something that stripped down? He is such a "bird" when it comes to tweaking things to perfection. I really wish he'd realize that sometimes in life, you've just got to be pleased with yourself or your work/hobby and ENJOY it. His fans certainly would enjoy it just as much if he played a handful of small venues, one or two big shows, or just popped a song or two that he loves on Itunes. I know we'd all rather SEE him perform, but at this point I'll take whatever is offered and be glad. Wouldn't it be interesting to see who he would choose for band members this time around? Sure would be nice if he put a Christmas song on Itunes. I mean how hard would that be? There certainly are alot from which he could choose and surely he has a fav or two.

Ooh, Christmas songs! That gets my vote, but I'd take anything.

I'm with sparkle---I would LOVE to hear him do Christmas songs!I think he has the perfect voice for alot of them and it would be a great cd to listen to while wrapping gifts--right now I'm listening to just his solo cds.But I guess thats okay too as long as it's Steve I'm listening to I don't care if it's Christmas songs or not.
