Someone has posted some of the Classic Rock Magazine Journey interview over at The Other Place (mr). Neal and Ross both deny the Augeri lip-synch rumours. Well, Neal first says that if it did happen he was clueless (so what else is new) and then he says it didn't happen. And get this - they are talking about re-doing the greatest hits with JSS. How dumb can you get. Now I do like JSS - I think he's really talented. They ought to make good use of his talent instead of trying to, as someone else said - improve on perfection. Ain't happenin' guys! The reason they ARE "Greatest Hits" is because of Perry. sparkle

None of them have any sense. As people and performers who are supposed to be delivering their "art" to the ticket buying public, they've gone down a road I really don't like. They've crapped on the fans, covered it up and now are lying about it? Top it all off by talking about rereleasing the old hits with another new singer? Sounds like they are still trying to haul themselves out of a very deep well and Neal is still trying desperately to bury the Perry legacy, as always. Does Steve still have control of their catalog, or does he only get one vote? I can't imagine he would allow them to rerecord those songs, but maybe he can't stop them. I think enough is enough and he needs to take a stand, if he still has the clout.

The whole thing is so disappointing, I think I'm just going to listen to my old stuff with Steve and leave the current Journey behind. They keep sayng they are working on a new cd, I think that's a lie too personally.

Well I don't believe Perry 's legacy with Journey is in any danger of being buried or forgotten. Perry's legacy is safe in my opinion, he still has a huge loyal fan base out there supporting him.
Plus, the fact that it is his VOICE that we hear singing all those magnificent songs on the radio. And the current line up of Journey is still having to perform all those hit songs that Perry, Schon, & Cain wrote together, that is still the music that the fans WANT to hear!!!
As for JSS rerecording Perry's songs, I sure hope that doesn't happen, I wouldn't buy it! I'd rather keep on listening to the VOICE that made me LOVE all that incredible music first!!! NO one can sing those songs better than Perry anyway!!
