www.myspace.com/journeyHas anyone checked this out?? Perry is all over it. Maybe they are finally realizing that they never were much without him...or management realized that for them...and they are hanging it up and just cashing in on past glories. Thoughts?? Just for the record, Steve has said that he is NOT reuniting with them. www.fanasylum.com/steveperry/June 21, 2007 Hello everyone. This is Steve Perry. As you are aware I have yet to launch my own web site and Fan Asylum is still the only credible site for official statements from me. Once again they have kindly allowed me to post this statement. It has been brought to my attention that there is a rumor circulating that I am reuniting with Journey. I want to go on record as saying that I have no such plans whatsoever to do that. What you have heard is only a rumor. I’m truly sorry for any disappointment this rumor may be causing. I also would like to say that your faithfulness continues to warm my heart. Thank you so very much, Steve Perry

Well I don't know what to think of the reasons they chose to do it for, I just LOVE the fact that Perry is all over it!! And that is the way it SHOULD be, Perry is the one who cowrote the music, and made those songs famous with his voice first!!!

www.myspace.com/journeyMaybe they are finally realizing that they never were much without him...or management realized that for them...and they are hanging it up and just cashing in on past glories. Thoughts?? They might realize it but they will never admit it. I think they are just arrogant (and dumb) enough to think they can lie low for a few months and this will all blow over and then hey - a new Journey with a new singer and everything will be just peachy again! All those BT suckers can line up and get back to shelling out $$ each for those meet-and-greet tickets, what a joke. If they hire that Perry impersonator, they will be an absolute laughtingstock in the music business. Not that I care, I'll be laughing too. I went and checked out that guy, he does sound eerily like Perry, but please, how lame can you get to hire an impersonator of your original singer because he can no longer stand to work with you. Personally I am SO relieved to hear that Steve was not going back with them. I really didn't think he would, but I had a moment of fear! sparkle

I saw it and thought to to myself "this is the way it should have always been" Face it Agueri didn't amount to much and then JSS was used just to finish the tour I am ashamed to call myself a Journey fan for the way they treat their singers and not to mention for how they din't care for their own legacy. I think it's a little too late He was/is what made the band no if and buts about it. Without his work/voice the following two wouldn't have crap to sing about.

All that Journey has accomplished since Perry was let go, was to tour as a tribute band to their early years of success with Perry. I think that they tried to break away from his influence and now realize that they have failed and to continue touring, will have to keep the Perry influence going. Like HH predicted, he will have them doing all the work and he still remains topgun. All the decisions about how the songs are used are his say and he does produce the remastered material from the classic years. I think that he is still in control of what's important about Journey and he has no interest at all in what they do as far as who tries to sing the songs his voice made memorable or what new material they may attempt to produce. He has said that his only interest is in the Perry/Journey years. I doubt he cares about the mistakes they make along the way. It can't touch him. I'm proud to be a Classic Journey fan and like Perry, I feel that it has nothing to do with their existence since they went on without him.

I do like some of the songs off of Arrival and Generations, but its still Steve's band. They all need to get together and do an intervention!

Seeing that page is a double edged sword. On one hand, I definitely don't want Steve's legacy buried by those leaches. On the other hand, I don't want them getting any more attention by using Steve's continual popularity to draw people in. They've used his voice in promos to sell tickets for years. Now they want to return to their "legacy". That requires milking the Perry cash cow AGAIN. They have tried for years to disassociate themselves with him and his legacy, to no avail. Now they see staying tied to him is their only current source of real revenue. It gets under my skin more this time around, since they tried so hard in the past to make him seem irrelevant in Journey's history. At least that is what Neal always tried to do. Jon always tried to take credit for the songs, too. I guess Sony put up that page? Perry is Sony's cash in the bank, too. It sure isn't the rest of them, post 1998.
