Like every other decision that Journey makes, I don't suppose that we will ever get the real lowdown on what happened. I don't buy that it was because of ego of Jon or Neal. Something happened and nobody is talking so we can just guess. JSS did present a totally different image as a frontman, from what was expected of Journey. Some liked the rough cut appearence and "sonic" sound that he brought but others couldn't identify with it. We may not even have the whole story of how it all transpired as JSS was cryptic about that. Maybe less contact is better business, as with Augeri. The less said the better. Discussing it face to face would maybe be adding insult to injury between the parties involved. Maybe ? In the long run, both vocalist's came out ahead with their time spent with Journey, imo.

Even though things did not work out with JSS and Journey, I think JSS has benefited greatly from being with Journey. He has picked up LOTS of Journey fans that will continue to support and follow him in his carreer.
Despite whatever took place between JSS and Journey, I believe JSS will continue to be successful on his own musically!

JSS isn't being cryptic about why he was let go... he really doesn't know why he was let go! Neither Neal nor Jon gave him a call to tell him why. Neal and Jon walked away from dealing with it and left it up to management to deal with it. Still to this day Jeff hasn't received one call from anyone in Journey. Cowards. What makes it worse is that Jeff had to hear it from some music industry peers, who knew about it before Jeff did! Anyway, it shows the callous way Neal and Jon treat people. If you want to read some stuff on how Journey treated their employees, go to TBJF. There is a former employee of Journey who had a close relative die and Journey wouldn't let him go to the funeral. What does that tell you about the character of Journey?

What does that tell you about the character of Journey? I'm not quite sure who this former employee is of Journey, but concerning the issue of Journey not letting an employee off of work to go to a funeral, I'm not sure I would just take everything a FORMER employee told you as "actual fact" on a message board. Assuming that is where you got this information. I could be wrong about this, but isn't it a LAW that employers HAVE to let their employess off of work for funeral services??? I THINK it is is like 3 to 5 days off. So even IF, this is true, and I doubt it, I think "this employee" would have had the right to go to the funeral "without" fear of losing his/her job. Neal & Jon have certainly made some bad decisions concerning Journey, "Biggest mistake was letting go of Perry", but even with that said, I'm NOT buying into this former employee story that Journey wouldn't let him/her go to a relative's funeral.

I agree with you sexxymofo. I think there is much more to this story, than the fans are being told, but that is of course the way it has always been. ( Fans don't have all the information) Plus, it doesn't sound like JSS is all that upset for being let go, like I said, he came away with alot more new fans, and it certainly didn't hurt his music carreer, he gained more than he lost. And that is a good thing for him!

I can't imagine many other singers wanting to get involved with Journey with their track record. They will probably HAVE to get some unknown now. I wouldn't be too upset either if I was JSS - at least he got out before they ruined his voice. sparkle
