I am going to hurl! It is now sooooo obvious and w/o a legitimate excuse: 1. They know Perry is key 2. They really don't want Perry 3. They want a Perry puppet to hopefully capitalize on How absolutely horrible: www.melodicrock.com/ See if not already have the last story and image of 9/26/07

Well I guess they have such a rep in the U.S. for trashing singers that now they have to outsource! The only thing I can figure is that Journey has basically given up and just wants to be an oldies band or something. That guy has a noticeable accent too - probably very un-P.C. of me to mention, but there it is. Of course to me anyone but Perry with Journey sounds strange. The whole thing is bizarre. It's really sad that Steve's legacy has become a parody. Thank goodness for cds/dvds. sparkle

As for Arnel's accent or where he comes from that has nothing to do it for me. He has a lovely voice, but my position is still the same, as it always has been, even through ( Augeri & JSS too), I still can ONLY support a Perry fronted Journey because I'm just a VERY loyal Perry fan! However I do feel real bad for Arnel because on those other 2 boards over there, some of the people over there went WAY too far with their hate and anger, and have spoken terribly about him for no reason. Regardless of where Arnel comes from, or his accent, or whoever the singer is, that the fans were wanting to front Journey , there is no reason for him to be treated so badly by others that are angry at Neal & Jon, and are just taking it out on him unfairly.

I believe that Perry is in the works, they are crazy if they don't do this after even the Spice Girls sold out in 38 seconds! Perry is the only answer.

LOL -It's like a car accident - you don't want to look but you can't help yourself. I don't care where the guy comes from either - I liked JSS and he's Puerto Rican - but the accent is just odd sounding on those songs. Not that it matters. I give him a year tops, if Journey even lasts that long. I think they've alienated even the die-hards now. Maybe we should start our own prediction thread. I predict that Journey is circling the drain and will sink within 2 years after trashing yet another singer, either by burning him out or kicking him to the curb for not having "Perry magic". Memo to Schon: NOBODY has the the Perry magic except PERRY!

I really think that Journey's problem is the band itself. Perry guided them and taught them how to allow a vocalist to be heard and as Rolie stated, "He taught them how to play to a singer." I have not found any of their material, since Perry, to be memorable or as tight and magical since TBF. They are where they were before Perry joined up with them, lacking direction and proving that without the voice that ran the show, they are again irrelevant.
Any future they may have will be as a tribute band if they only perform the classics. I don't feel that any new material with a new vocalist will be any more successful than their last few attempts. They themselves are lacking the professionalism anymore, imo.
The vocalists that they may hire to replace Perry will at least get something out of it, with a chance to tour with a once great band and sing their greatest hits, paying tribute to the "Voice."
