Hi Flossy! I don't think that the band knows how to create new material that is worth anything anymore and unless Arnel can get himself heard on his own merit, they will just be a tribute band. Their new album will tell us just how they stand today, imo. Covering the old material is becoming old hat and simply a test as to who can best do justice to the Journey/Perry hits.

Yeah, what HC said! They are going back to their Perry era sound, as Jon Cain said., or legacy sound. When did the NOT try to do that, since Perry left? More doubletalk, more excuses. If they remake the classics in any way, shape or form, they lose all credibility as artists, IMO. It means that can't make a dollar on their own without him/his voice.

When you think about it, there have been many, many musicians who have been influenced by and made a living from covering the Journey hits, that I for one am convinced Perry's vocals has the most to do with their being hits. (Hope you can figure that sentence out, lol.) All the Journey tribute bands will, for the most part, only do the hits and the vocalists are all trying to sing as much like Steve as is humanly possible. Even Arnel, at this stage, is banking on this, imo. What I'm trying to say is that it's amazing how steve has influenced other singers. Hall Of Fame had better get on the stick and give him a call.

Yea, your definitely right about that Happycamper!
There has been SO MANY singers that have been influenced by Perry, and his amazing vocal abilities , and all the great music he has made with Journey, his solo works, and the music he has made with other artists.
You would think the Hall Of Fame would appreciate GREAT talent like that and get HIM in there!!
