I often wondered why no one shares their stories of meeting Perry and or Journey. I wonder if those people forgot all about what made them happy as a child/teenager. I only wish more people would tell about their adventures/stories.

Well I wish I could tell a story here about meeting Perry, or seeing him somewhere, cuz I know that would be much more exciting, but unfortunately neither of those things have happened to me.
I'll just share the story that happened on Lake Shasta about a year ago. I was with my son & daughter & her friend on a houseboat in the middle of the lake. It was really a beautiful day for the most part, but towards evening , while we were cooking on the grill, the wind started blowing hard & the dark clouds just rolled in out of nowhere , then it started pouring down raining. We quickly got inside the houseboat & the boat was rocking back & forth. My daughter & friend grabbed the radio & started switching stations looking for a good song to listen too. As they were flipping through the stations, we heard that GREAT VOICE singing, (Yes, it was Steve Perry of course), "The wheel in the sky keeps on turning, don't know where I'll be tomorrow", of course the girls stopped right on that song & turned the volume the up, up up!!! We all started singing to the song & dancing, while the wind was rocking the houseboat all over the lake.
Now I know that is not as much fun as getting to hear a story about meeting Steve Perry, but it was a REAL FUN time for us ROCKING on that houseboat with Steve Perry singing "Wheel In The Sky!!!!

That was a great story, Lori! I have so many great memories of hearing Steve singing on the radio, especially. Seems like every time I would be sad, have some kind of dilemma or just in a great mood to rock out, I'd turn the dial and there he would be, filling that void as only he can. His voice and his lyrics just take you to another place, and I really can't think of another singer that does that for me. One story in particular....I was in the dentist's chair getting ready to have some work done. I was nervous (doesn't everyone hate to go to the dentist?) and just as the drill was about to reach my mouth, Steve came on the radio and sang Faithfully. I concentrated on every nuance of his voice and the song. Before I knew it, I was relaxed and my dental visit was finished! I also am a big fan of You Better Wait. I love to pop the CD on while I'm driving. One of my favorite tunes while cruising!

I love to have it on my headphones and crank it up. It is an infectious song that before you know your tap, wiggling, and dance on your butt cheeks on the chair. Hmmm, and I wonder why people look at me like I'm nuts. ;D

Hey perrynow,
Perry is definitely a very special singer & performer!! It doesn't matter where I'm at, in a car listening to the radio, or a store, music playing over the speaker intercom, "his voice" always grabbs my full attention!!
And I'll have to remember to tell my dentist at the next visit to just play Steve Perry music for me, so it can help me relax & distract me from any "painful precedures" that the dentist is doing on my teeth.
And "You Better Wait" is an EXCELLENT song!!!

It seems everytime I go to the dentist I end up hearing "Foolish Heart". Hmmmmm - subliminal message?
