I found this topic at another site. I never really noticed before all the people that Steve is paying tribute to in this song...people who died young and tragically.
Captured by the Moment
Where did he go The man who said "I have a dream"
Martin Luther King
Where have they gone The four who sang to "Let It Be"
The Beatles...John Lennon...and now, George Harrison
Jackie's alone She lost him one November day
John F Kennedy
L.A. Motel One sad mistake took Sam away
Sam Cooke
Oh, remember then Remember when
Captured by the moment In the magic of a yesterday Captured by the moment And I hope it never fades away
Sweet Janis cried "Lord won't you buy a Benz for me"
Janis Joplin
Jimi was right Castles made of sand slip to the sea
Jimi Hendrix
Oh, remember then Remember when
Captured by the moment In the magic of a yesterday Captured by the moment And I hope it never fades away Captured by the moment Oh in the magic of a yesterday
(guitar solo)
Otis replied A little tenderness we gotta try
Otis Redding
One open door He tried to set the night on fire
The Doors- Jim Morrison
Captured by the moment In the magic of a yesterday Captured by the moment And I hope it never fades away Captured by the moment Oh, in the magic of a yesterday Oh whoa whoa

I remember a long time ago - probably back when the album first came out - an article I read that broke that song down. I love this kinda stuff. Thanks for sharing that now. Anyone remember reading something similiar for "Suzanne"? I know I did but I can't remember the whole story behind the song.

I like that song myself (captured by the moment) AND I like Suzanne too, who knows the story behind the song Suzanne out here? The song was written by Cain and Perry so it could be for someone in one of their lives?

I remember someone asking Steve about "Suzanne" in an interview a long time ago. He said it was based on a real person but he'd promised not to reveal any details - he didn't say but I seem to remember I had the impression it was one of the Journey guys.

Suzanne was about Tane McClure= jon's exwife. who is now remarried and has a child(girl). Tane turned into a soft porn actress. (doesnt show everything). Shes been in some videos- country "shouldnt have kissed me like that" i think is one by Toby Keith i think it is. And in movies as such as Legally Blonde(and part 2)- as Elle's mom.
