www.classicrockrevisited.com/Interviews05/davidpack05.htmWendy: Can you tell me why the track “Brand New Start” from your new CD is so special? David: That is the first time Steve Perry has done a duet on a record in over a decade. Not only that, but Steve Perry co-produced the song. Not only did he co-write it and sang on it, but he co-produced it as well. He really worked his butt off with me on that, shoulder to shoulder. He was fantastic at the studio. Steve is intense and passionate and a perfectionist just like I am. It was great having another singer that you admire coaching you on your own vocal. I loved that. I don’t like to have to produce my own vocals. I loved Steve producing my vocals for me. Wendy: Did you produce your vocals on the other songs? David: On every other song I produced my own vocals. I had to make the final judgment and that is a hard thing for me. It was great letting Steve make the final judgment on that song. That song will probably be the next single.

Always nice to read good things about Steve! Isn't it funny how everyone ELSE in the music biz seems to love working with him except Neal & Co.? Hmm...

Yes, some really nice comments from David Pack regarding on "how well" they worked together on the song, "Brand New Start". Pack seems to really appreciate Steve's musical talents & abilities. I'm sure glad they got together to make this GREAT song!!! It is also great to hear this song may be the next single too!
As for those "other musicians" (won't mention their names) who have made some remarks in their interviews, they just seem to come across as jealous of Steve's musical talent & great fame. That's MY opinion anyway!

Wow! I just saw this and had been hoping David would comment on working with Steve. They seem like similar souls, don't they? If that song is a preview of what else they could do together, I'm thinking we should put a bug in David's ear that more Perry/Pack would be a welcomed by alot of people! I really think that song had Perry's mark on it in a major way.
