We are moving. Only 8months after we landed in this great house, we are moving. You ask where to? 2miles down teh road. Its technically the next town but the house is die for.
ITs a foreclosure, yup. But its not damaged and its 5000sqft. w/o the basement. 4 fireplaces, 4 bedrooms, 4.1baths(.1 is toilet and sink only(in laundry room area), 2 wet bars, the kitchen is total granite(i will have fun sealing it but oh well)- two stoves, two ovens, two sinks, sub zero fridge/freezer, pantry. Double staircase foyer, one staircase off the kitchen to go up that way. unreal its beautiful. we were "O MY GOSH"'ing the whole time. Could nto believe it.
The basement is started to be finished. The people never paid the contractor- subcontractor and landscaper. so we have to do the landscaping which isnt alot to do but we can do what needs to be done. 3 bay garage. under 2acres of land. but its wooded- got a deck and a screened in room (not a screened in deck but a ROOM screened in)-we are pinching ourselves.
we found out w/what hte last bid was that was accepted at and we went $5k highe and got it. We knew the people who got the 1st acceptance but they cancelled out because of something else nothign to do w/the house. so we put ours in and stuck to our guns for a week and got it!
Closing is March 24th, then we steam clean the carpets(which is only dirty because of a year of showings and no one keeping it up)- one hole in the wall made by the door knob when they whammed it open, and about 10% of the outlets were not finished being wired because they stiffed the contractors. so that is all somethign "easy" to fix. we also got to see the home inspection report on the house done by the people who backed out. No dead bodies etc. We called a few people in the neighborhood abotu the history of the house and everyone said the same story etc. no one varied greatly etc. whew!
FINALLY luck is on our side.
pics will be forth coming!
