Man that just sucks to read this (first time hearing it) last night watched a thing on Kirby Puckett (had a stroke and brain surgery not cancer - but still died) now this too? I was reading more about her and it said she was a lifelong NONsmoker
www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/03/07/reeve.obit/man how frustrating she didn't even smoke yet got lung cancer....
I saw a blurb that Sheryl Crow also has breast cancer? Man she is the perfect IMAGE of a woman who takes care of herself and eats right etc (shes into lots of good for ya stuff eating good yoga etc) and bam she now has Breast Cancer...
We loose too many great people to cancer in general (all forms), Staceys dad we lost at 56, battled and won prostate cancer then brain tumor but lung cancer hit HARD and he died fast from it. And she has lost and aunt at an early age too (to breast cancer), altho I never met her I remember she died young.
We plan on getting Stacey in for a baseline mamogram within the next year for 35 vs waiting till she is 40, also both of us have promised to get into the dermatologist and get full skin checks, a few unusual things on both of us, might be nothing but good to get a base look at where we stand now for later.
My brother in law who is in his mid 30's has the bad kind (melanoma sarcoma or smething like thati think its called) found it by accident going in for a skin rash, they asked have you ever been looked over full body?
He said no they stripped him and found like 4 things on his back took them all out and he still goes back for rechecks and such but they said for his type and size of them the survival rate is only 40% over the next 5 years, who wants to hear that!!!
Recently they did find another one on him at a checkup so that are all worried again for the results of it to come back now.
Also lost one of laurens friends moms, she was beautiful fun awesome family great daughter, super super nice fun people, she had breast cancer had them removed thought she won the battle and a yr later after routine checkups they found more in liver and spine, a few months later she passed...
Just frustrating, Stacey always does the cancer walks when they are nearby and we of course support the JTTC
www.journeytothecure.com it is a great foundation run by Val Goldfain - Hovarter (some of you here may know her) she is super cool helpful fun and a good friend, she has helped us in many ways and helped answer alot of medical stuff for stacey when her dad was going thru his treatments and such, I was honored to be at her wedding recently and they are just awesome folks with huge hearts for helping others.
They are also raffling off a guitar (i made a link on my perry & moyes websites if anyone wants to check it out)
www.perryfan.homestead.com/www.moyeslucas.com/I entered in for $25 worth of chances, cuz i know its a great foundation and good people run it and hey who wouldn't wanna win a cool guitar!
