"Word is out! Perry will be recording with smith on next Solo!He is in the process of recruiting the rest of the Musicians for the project....Sometime in Late January"

I would love for this one to be true. I've always liked Smitty, and he has said in the past that he absolutely loved working with Steve. If it's true, of course I'll buy it. If it's not...well, just chalk it up to folks having nothing better to do with their time.
The mailing list thing sure is interesting. Does raise up your antennae just a tad, doesn't it?

I wonder where the fans at BT got this information???
I hope it is true too, but if not, it certainly would be a FANTASTIC idea for Steve & Smith to do a solo together. I've always loved Steve Smith drumming style. And it is so true that we fans just can never get enough of Steve Perry!!!

Well, I take the rumor of working with Steve Smith with a grain of salt.......but the email list on Fan Asylum is very intriguing! Lora has said on melodicrock.com that they just put it there for forwarding any news but it doesn't mean they are planning to announce anything. But why NOW after all this time? They were doing fine with announcing things as they came along. Still makes me go hmmmmmmmm?  ?  |

I have serious doubts about the credibility of this rumor. The poster who started it at BT just popped in with cryptic information and nothing to back it up. He just expects us to take his word for it. There have been other rumors that had much more info that turned out to be false. Taken from a post at BT.... "Word is out! Oh well...the rumor make a very nice dream, but we all know what is coming in November is NO dream! I can't wait til November gets here!

I'm not holding my breath on this rumor, either. I'd love for it to be true, but we have all taken that path before and it ain't pretty when it turns out to be just more "troll talk".
I think Steve likes Steve Ferrone as a drummer, too, so if he didn't use Moyes again, maybe he would choose Ferrone. If anyone noticed, Ferrone was on the Golub CD and on the song Steve sang and produced w/ Pack, too. Pack used another drummer on all the rest of the CD, so Steve must have brought Ferrone in specifically. I think the SS/Perry rumor might be to fuel a bigger rumor for an eventual Journey reunion. Trolls know that would fire everyone up one way or another, so they get their kicks that way, I guess. It does get people talking though, doesn't it? I'd like Steve to do something of his own just to shut up the "Perry is done" people!
