Lauren who is 5 loves Barbie and the magic of Pegasus (a barbie dvd movie), you can't get away from the commercials on tv for the NEW Barbie magic of Pegasus in 3D (same movie but in 3D with glasses).
Lauren has asked for this since day one of the commercials, we explained it is the SAME dvd same movie only it has 3D glasses etc, she has seen 3D movies and loves them (spy kids 3D etc), so we said save your chore money and we will pitch in half and you can get it.
Lauren worked SO hard and we made a chart almost like a thermometer showing when we reached enough to buy this movie for her, actually found it at target on sale so she had a few dollars left to buy some silly putty and a CARS (the movie) toy!
Got home got the glasses out and on, sat down to watch Barbie Magic of Pegasus in 3D on our bigscreen tv lights off even had popcorn...
Ok this is where things go sour fast, Bibble a charactor has little put glasses on take glasses off images that come on during the movie, this movie is about 1 and a half hours, guess how much of the movie is actually IN 3D? MAYBE 10-15 mins TOTAL!
So of course Lauren is all bummed and saying why isn't it in 3D and stuff, I am saying I dunno reading the box etc and yep on the back it says "portions are in 3d" yet the cover is all glittery with a big 3D logo etc.
Long story short Lauren loves Barbie movies and xbox barbie horse adventures game, we already had the movie but this 3D version came out and of course it looked fun and neat even tho we knew it was the same movie just the 3D element sounded fun to her.... Yet this one is a big miss...
If you have a little girl don't waste the time or money on this release, putting on and taking off the glasses 5 times during a show 85% of which are without glasses on is also just asking for the glasses (in childs hands) to become destroyed even faster.
BOO Barbie BOO for this sham of a 3D movie, not to mention Lauren worked so hard and saved for this, tried to make it into a learning thing explaining to her it was some misleading info yet we can't return it or anything so time to start saving again...
