I am here Haven't been online much in the last week or so, seems so many things going on, plus our A/C is on the blink so I have been other places vs in the hot house here, had the ac guy out today tho and he cleaned the coil and did some other stuff now its cooling MUCH better, those calls we don't pay for since we live onsite for Staceys work (work covers all maitenance costs). Also got my car's ac fixed today, i have leather and no ac 95+ temps and a 5 yr old in the backseat crying made me pull in and say fix it no matter what it costs! Lucky me tho it just needed a low pressure switch and some freon so I was out the door with working a/c in the car for $82 Bill

Hi Andy & Bill I too check in everyday. I am here in lurking mode There's an awful lot going on in my personal life and well it would be to much to share. However am intrested in the outcome of the lipping situation going on with Journey. Ah and the best news of all this, was when I heard Steve Perry is practicing his scales & is remastering classic Journey/solo work and adding NEW as well. He also said he would be SEEING US SOON!!!! I don't know about all of you but I haven't stopped doing flips ;D

I've been busy with my daughter & have checked in here off & on, but for the most part it was quiet in here, so I guess everyone is just busy.
Sexxymofo, it is getting VERY heated over on that other board about the "lip synching" issue with Journey, ..... BUT MUCH, MUCH, MORE interested in the GREAT NEWS about Steve Perry!!!! That news made me very, very happy!!!

I'm here.
Feelin' the heat too. Got a guy coming over this aft to give us an estimate for a new heat pump (heat/air unit). We added some rooms onto our house last year and the one we have is working itself to death and not going to cut it in the additional rooms, sooo...(sigh).

its beautiful here, i have the cental turned off (upstairs and down, two zones) and windows open. man its nice. got the windows washed yesterday(they are too high up and too big for us to do. our ceiling in the mian part of the house is 23ft, our family room is 30ft(no exaggeation). Its nice to see out of clean windows finally. Whoever owned this house first(original owners were foreclosed on)-they never had the windows washed, furnace cleaned, central air unit cleaned etc. pure pigs that lived here-where ever their dogs went on teh carpet that is where it stayed etc. so we have to rip up the carpeting on the 2nd floor and put in new or hardwood floors. Hardwood floors on 1st level but have to get them refinished. anyways.... what was i saying?
heheee

While I believe that the person who is levying the lip synching charges is one of the most vile posters I've ever run into, he seems to be making a pretty credible case to back himself up. He has now started a blog:www.escape-to-tape.blogspot.com I don't have the technology nor the expertise to confirm or debunk his claims, but maybe some here could listen for themselves. Several other music professionals have apparently listened to his evidence and agree that Augeri has been lip synching for the last couple of tours. What I find most interesting is what is NOT being said and WHO is staying very quiet abut the whole thing. The owner of the "other site" is known to be in Neal Schon's back pocket, and Perry fans know that Neal Schon has lurked that board and run back to BT to ridicule things that Perry fans said there. So it would be very easy for the site owner to get confirmation one way or the other with one phone call. He hasn't. He has made no statement other than to tell people to move on or to close threads. The "official" Journey camp has made NO statements, but "employees" of Journey have come out of the woodwork over there to make very unprofessional threats and comments. Now they are resorting to bumping up year old threads to try and bury the threads with the lip synching discussions. The most laughable claim by some of the Journey cheerleaders is that this whole thing is a conspiracy cooked up by Perry fans. I've been busy with my daughter & have checked in here off & on, but for the most part it was quiet in here, so I guess everyone is just busy. I have been to his blog page very intresting! Do you have to have an account there to comment? I tried but it didn't take it! Oh, well. Yes it is intresting where this will end up. I hope that no harm comes to him or the other person whom has chosen to stay silent for fear of his life. They have stated they have recieved death threats how crazy is that? Well if anything it is funny how the SA camp says it's ok to have tapes than to have Perry back. What the hell is wrong with that picture? Means they know nothing of true talent!

That news made me very, very happy!!! Lori Yea, the owner of the site made a rule that NO new threads about Lip synching can be made on the board. As I said, it has been very heated over there, more so, than I've ever seen it before. Hey, I wouldn't know for sure IF Augeri was lip synching, but my gosh, it sure seems from the way that photographer is responding & behaving to the person who brought this out in the open, that it just makes me think it is more true, than not. Oh well, I'd MUCH rather focus on Perry, I can't wait until we hear about what he is doing with Tommy D. & what about that new cd he is remastering with old music & some NEW MUSIC too for the FALL. Huh, hadn't heard about that. Will have to go surfing. I wouldn't doubt Augeri is lip synching. It didn't take them long to work Perry half to death with their touring schedule, and Augeri wasn't that great to start with. What I really don't understand is the fans and people who are willing to cover it up and just blindly support Journey. Neal Schon has shown nothing but contempt for his fans, IMHO. If you aren't 20 years old, female and "hot", he doesn't want to know you - except when the tickets go on sale, of course. Someone on another Perry board said that the Journey camp now has decided that the reason Def Leppard is getting all the publicity and hype on this tour is because they are - get this - JEALOUS of Journey! I was ROTFLMAO! Some of these people really need to get a life. Hey - it's the Journey Vanilli tour lol. sparkle

oh yeah def lep is sure jealous? and why is that? because Journey is OPENING for them OH YEAH, or because Journey has a new lead singer that isnt catapolting them to stardom like they were w/Steve p? oh yeah thats right that is jealous acts!
puuullllleeeeaaazzzzzzzze!
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!- the boys go for ONE HOUR! my hell begins at 1005am when they come home, prayers and a moment of silence would be appreciated!

When Perry was in Journey, it was a CLASS ACT BAND, but now it is just so sad what it has become NOW. The stone is not just cracked, NOW it is starting to break apart into pieces, so very sad!
Perry we miss you & want you to return solo or whatever you want to do!

This is the first I have seen or heard of anything mentioned about anyone doing an ashley simpson (aka lip synch) hehe I will have to look around a bit later tonight when I have time but that is interesting to hear I guess we will never know the truth unless they have a "skip" one night like Milli Vanilli did hehe

In the middle of some major remodling. Somedays cannot even get to the pc...sorry folks. New flooring, painting and a general overhaul. Looks like it might take awhile since hubby works shift-work...
This is the first I too have heard of this,(the lypsyncing) but I must say that NOTHING Neal & Co. does now surprises me. He has run the name into the mud and there is no hope for it to every be restored to the status it deserves. As a Perry fan I say "what goes around comes around." Sorry, I have no empathy for Neal and the situations he has put himself into.
We are in an area that does not require a/c....ceiling fans are sufficient. So I feel for you who are in sweltering areas. I hope you can find relief.

GLass Tiger used Pre recorded music on the ROR Tour. There would be parts of "dont forget me when im gone" that had a keyboard in it and where was the keyboard player? on the other side of the stage getting into the crowd etc.
People do lip synch more than you realize (the star spangler banner is almost always PRE recorded and the vocalist then lip synchs for the cameras etc)

Often, bands have instruments taped for live play that they used in the studio recording to round out the song during a live performance. Having an additional instrument recorded is one thing, but for a lead singer to lip synch in a concert that people go pay big bucks for is outrageous and a rip off. Especially a band like Journey who always took great pride in how they "lived live". Seems they are living "canned" these days. Not my idea of the great band I once knew. If any other band wants to do it, go for it, just don't fool people into thinking you're "artists". I watched Perry on VH1-C last night and I was proud to be a Journey fan.....THAT version of Journey! They really were on a mission for perfection.
