Anyone here ever mess with creating custom Laptop Skins? I haven't been online in a while but have been borrowing my neighbors laptop while I am rebuilding my main pc... Anyways I decided for fun to do up two SKINS in Photoshop for the outter cover (they peel right off so no damage done to their laptop). They are so glossy I had to take the shots at weird angles to stop flash glare but overall you get the idea... Bill & It would look even BETTER if their laptop was all grey or all silver or all black, the back cover plate is half and half (grey / silver) but overall the effect of the skin looks decent on them I think... Oneday when I do get a laptop I will just trim these to fit it and make sure whatever I get has a flat back and all one color to make it look even better. I know I am a dork for doing these but it was fun... Bill

It's pretty simple to work one up in Photoshop, the FTLOSM logo is off the back of the 94 tour book that I scanned into the computer then I just put black around it, the other logo came off some rockbill poster picture i had (a big image) and then again I just surrounded it by black for the final image. Once I had the image its just a question of getting it printed up, there are plenty of places online for real reasonable pricing will print a custom laptop skin like www.polygfx.com for me I am lucky cuz we have a custom signmaker/printer who does signs for staceys work here constantly (banners, signs, bandit signs, flyers, cards, etc etc etc) so I just give him an image on cdr and he whips me out a shinny peel and stick thick sheet (stick that comes off almost like static stick vs sticker stick).

I dig the skins thats for sure here, I did finally just get a laptop ordered up and it should be here mid week, bummer part is tho that the back of the laptop won't accept a skin (its got too many ridges and other charactoristics so it won't allow a skin.. (Alienware Sentia 3450 is what I have coming so the back is ridged and such) Stacey said happy bday anniversary xmas and a few other things in for a good 12 months or so, but finally I will be living in the 2000's and have a new working laptop to call my own, no borrowing or piecemealing together junk parts of this or that, ive done that for years pc wise, heck I JUST upgraded to windows 2000 on my main pc so this will be my first real XP product LOL... Figures Vista will be out soon but still I am starting to come into the 2000's now vs being stuck on the late 90's parts and pc wise... They had a good deal going with 12 months free financing so ill be just putting whatever I make from website design and such back towards the laptop to help get it caught up and paid off, good thing is tho that I have had lots of work coming in website wise so I should be able to make a few of the payments ahead of time I think...
