Journey:

Can someone explain to me the merit of seeing Journey when Steve Perry hasn't been in the band for almost ten years? I mean honestly, when your band's defining quality becomes your vocalist and you ditch him because he has a degenerative bone disease something just doesn't add up. The best part about Journey's current line-up is that they don't even try to cope with losing Perry or go in a new direction-the just try to find vocalist who kind of sounds like him. What's the Goddamned point

Well first I'll say, I 'm glad the author sets the record straight about Perry being "ditched" from Journey, during the time of his serious medical problems with hips. Perry "didn't leave" Journey on his own accord.

The way some fans talk on other boards that seems to be how they think it happened that he just up and left Journey, so I'm glad to see that this person REMINDS the readers of the real way it SADLY happened to Perry.

And I believe that when Perry told the them to call the band something else ( NOT Journey) that is what Neal & Jon should have done.... because Journey will never reach the same level of GREATNESS that they HAD with Steve Perry OR ever be able to move in another direction without HIM!

Sure they can hire other singers that TRY to Immulate him, BUT Journey will STILL NEVER be the same again without Steve Perry!


The BEST news that is going on "right now" in my book is hearing that we fans are getting NEW MUSIC FROM STEVE PERRY!!! I can't wait to get my hands on his new cd and listen to his "lovely voice" singing on MY stereo!!!

Can you believe there are actually a few people that think Arnel does the classics BETTER than Steve? Bwahaaaaaaaaa!!!! Time for them to get a reality check. Besides, it doesn't matter how well Arnel "covers" the hits. He didn't write ANY of them!
I don't agree about their opinion on the Eagles or Hall & Oates. At least they are original vocalists and writers, singing their own material to the best of their ability, not a cover of themselves. That deserves some respect in my book.
