I've been wondering what kind of music Perry is working on, R&B, Jazz, soft rock, or rock.. either way I'm thrilled that he is making new music again. I envy Lora & Cindy for getting to hear it over lunch.
I wish I could have been a fly on that table( not an annoying fly ;D) just to listen to his music... well as long as they didn't swat me dead! ;D ;D

I'm hoping that the music will be from all that he has worked on and stashed away in the past, and maybe lyrics about what this past decade has been like for him. Now that he has family, it might be about that, in part.

I'd like to hear him do some Sam Cooke.

You gotta have in mind that he´s 13 years older since the last release in 96. I´m not sure Perry will focus that much on rock on the album he´s working on. I believe it will be more of a R&B record like Street Talk which was way more successful than For the love of strange medicine. Anyway, I welcome any sort of music style he wants to put out.

I think that it will be more like Street Talk also, with material that he's worked on in the past.

Street Talk was almost a perfect album. Some great songs so that is a HIGH bar for another solo but "knowing" SP he will surpass it ;D

Some great songs so that is a HIGH bar for another solo but "knowing" SP he will surpass it ;D Maybe this album will have his dream of the most unique song ever on it. He wrote that Still They Ride came close but I'm thinking that the perfect song would be more simple and definable. He and Cain may have already wrote it as Don't Stop Belivin becomes more of an icon than when it first became a hit. Who would have thought that the song would grow and grow as it began to be used as a message for faith and hope.
