Its been a little over a month since my post "Still" and it has provoked some interesting posts (which is a definite plus) in addition it and your replies/comments have been fodder for some more thinking on my part about what I was actually try to convey in the post.

I think I missed the mark of the main point of what I wanted to share and now I think I got it worked out enough to hopefully get it right....

All in all, us fans of the SP music I believe have more than an affinity for his music it actually addresses a psychological and maybe sometimes spiritual need/chord. In reality we sincerely appreciate his efforts, talent & skills. I think it would be good if he really understood that for a lot of his "fans" it is not some superficial "latest thing" or "oooh a star" kind of thing but sincere respect. So the desire for new material is not just for the sake of new material but more data/info/connection. Does that make sense?
I may have it completely wrong but I suspect that he needs for his own well-being to understand his place in "the universe" and how "no man is island unto himself".
I know we all hope is happy and well.

I agree with your view that he has lots fans that do NOT see him (including me) as some kind of superficial person or that he is seen as the latest fad, it REALLY is about a sincere respect for him & his talent! So wanting more data/info/connection, yes that definitely makes sense.

However I do think for us fans that we still need to remember that as much as we want "the connection" with him, it still is about having respect to let him make that decision for himself in his own way & time.

I just think some fans get too demanding (Not here) on what ever there own expectations are of him. Just MY own opinion!

And I whole heartly agree with your thoughts about him possibly having "a need for his own well being to understand his place in the universe". It is what ever is right for him!

For those fans at MR complaining & whining , and the ones who constantly tear him down publicly, or spread all kinds of crap about him, and then get mad because he has not done an interview on that particular website, or make new music, or what ever other expectation they have of him, that only demonstrates that it is those "particular fans" that are the ones that have real problems, NOT Perry. Just my own opinion!

Perry has been extremely generous with the fans over the years, and has done far more than he ever had to for us, could have easily just stayed quiet & out of the public eye totally , but he has GIVEN to the fans musically for a whole lot of years & in many other ways too.

And given the many years SOME MR fans have publicly attacked him over there, I think we fans are pretty fortunate that Perry continues to DO for the fans at all!! This is just my opinion again!

So I will just keep saying, Steve Perry should just do whatever is "right for him" and no matter what , I will always remain a fan!!
