I just heard the mp3, and I think when Steve was singing by himself it sounded great! His voice is strong and clear! I can't wait to hear him when he has music and no off key ballplayers!! He was obviously laughing and having a good time!!! |

It was wonderful! I watched it on the computer here at work - I just knew my boss was going to keep bugging me and make me miss it and I would have killed him! They kept talking about Steve off and on, talked to him once and showed him in the crowd a couple of times. He looked like he was having a ball. Did you guys hear him talking earlier about how much fun he had - he said "they validated me, they made me feel like Steve Perry again!" - wouldn't it be great if he got the rock star bug again and decided to give us more music?

he was having a greattime. he had a smile on his face so much part of the time he was there. i wish i could have gone down. dh said its PURE nuts down there. He tried to get over to the area where he was going to be - the stage and you could not even move down the street etc.
i had tears streaming down my face watching him sing. I had to run to the school so i was not late and just stood there in disbelief and so happy.

Hello,
I went and saw Steve sing...he was awesome...he can STILL sing the pants off of anyone!!!!
And I mean anyone....! LOL
I saw him first at Cellular Field when he first arrived...he was interviewed there also...check the news for that!
Then I went to meet my friend (who works for the Board of Trade), her bosses got us to the front right where he was singing!
Good Lord, I got the same chills that I got seeing him on the 94 tour and thr ROR tour, and it felt soooo great!
Maybe, he'll get the 'itch' to sing "live" again.....
Now I have to watch all the news programs and get it taped!

Ohhhhh! How great was THAT? His voice sounded so strong and thank heavens he has perfect pitch, because those players were off-pitch big time! He looked so happy and if he was nervous, you sure couldn't see it. He is still "the voice". I just wish he could have had a mic of his choice and not had all those ballplayers trying to sing with him. I'd love to think this will push him to record more music.

well he asked the players to come up and help him so that was cool. it wasnt his time or his place or his thing. it was the white sox w/him there. its cool he sang for what he did. hopefully nwo he will hit the gym and the studio

I just read there were 1.75 million people attending in Chicago today! Now that took balls of steel for him to get on that stage after not singing for this long. My hat goes off to him in a really big way. If he can get through this he can do ANYthing musically now. Go to the studio, Steve....TOMORROW!!

I hope this gives Steve the inspiration to sing again. I thought he did really GREAT for not singing on a regular basis & not having a band behind him either. Perry still has THE VOICE that we fans all LOVE & really miss & WANT to hear again & again & again!!!!
You can do it Steve! We fans are with you all the way!!!!!

I was watching it at work live via computer as well. (thank you computer) Absolutely fantastic ;D I wanted to scream out for everyone to come over. It was so great to see him having so much fun and for being appreciated. I agree 100% with the whole "vindicated" line I understand he said a few days ago. Bless his heart the man is DA MAN!  |
