Thank you for the article icubud. Well these are just my own thoughts on the matter. It is interesting to me that Neal seems so concerned & wondering about why Steve is not touring his music TRACES?? I just think that it is Steve's decision on whether he tours or not tours his music TRACES. In my opinion he has done LOTS of interviews all over radio stations everywhere to PROMOTE TRACES and share his personal story with the fans. He has made VIDEOS of his new songs, and those videos are very, very entertaining to watch and listen to him singing his songs. He has been on multiple morning shows on TV, so when Neal says, "Steve isn't doing anything with TRACES" referring to touring. It contradicts his statement of "I am A True Friend Of... if that is true, then shouldn't Neal be making POSITIVE comments towards Steve and make "real sincere" and "supportive remarks" about what Steve CHOOSES to do regarding his own music of TRACES??? Neal's remarks sound "too judgmental" towards Steve in my opinion. Also in the article, Neal says, he doesn't WANT anything from Steve, he is NOT trying to get Steve to sing with band, he just wants his "friendship". Then later in article, he invites Steve to drop by the studio to have some coffee and possibly sing with the band. Steve Perry made it clear that he did not want to do anything musically with the band. Why doesn't Neal respect that and just really be a friend?? Being a real true friend means being genuinely caring & supportive, means respecting your friend's decisions & choices in his life. As for me, I feel Steve is doing it the way he wants to and I support him all the way!!! I love the music of TRACES. The music will always stay in my heart forever!!!!

Hi, I'm Jim from Decatur, Il., new guy here...... Lifelong fan of SP and musician (with a new band, first in 22 years! WOOT!!) myself, it literally made my heart soar when his last solo album, Traces, came out!!! Along with you 100%, I don't feel SP owes anybody anything. The man's choices to stay off the road and just live out his life how he wishes to are absolutely to be respected. I, and I'm sure the vast majority of his fans, are only too overjoyed that he came out with SOMETHING while he's still with us! That was genuinely a wish come true for me.
As for Neal's contradictory / judgemental sentiments, well.....as a long time musician and mate in many bands, I can tell you, music people are clinically insane. Seriously. Little of what we do or how we think or act is rational, lol. Not at all uncommon for musicians to carry on decades-long love-hate relationships. ... In the past few years I've buried three old friends of this genre, just said goodbye to another one last month, and it never gets easier as I get older. Now? I'm just trying my best to maximise the time and peace and love as best I can with who I have left.
Thanks for your page! Thanks for letting me join!

Hi Jim, It is nice to have you here.I am glad you stopped in and posted here. My name is Lori. I'm really sorry to hear about the loss of your friends/band mates, saying good-bye to those very close to you is definitely a real tough thing to go through. I wish you all the best. I lost my daughter in December 9 2018. Life has not been the same for me since then. I keep close to my son & daughter-in-law. Hey nice to hear your in a new band after 22 years that is very cool!!! It sounds like you took a break from being in a band for a while too. There is certainly nothing wrong with that either, being on the road all the time is a hard job for sure!! Thank you for posting here, be sure to come back and post more when you have the time. It was nice chatting with you. Stay safe and take care of yourself!
