Yeah, but check out the tour schedule. He only has two nights on at any given time, except for twice during the entire tour he has 3 nights on. They even have two weeks off before the go back to Red Rocks to play. He should be able to sing all by himself at Red Rocks with that kind of rest! Should be interesting to say the least.

Well, one of the BT mods has finally posted a response to one of the three posts (that I've seen) about the lipsyncing "rumours". I wonder if this will be the band's only official word on it. At least it does prove that the band and management are aware of the rumours. Maybe they have just "offically" chosen to ignore the gorilla on the couch. www.journeymusic.com/ubb/Forum10/HTML/001985-2.htmlTheJourneyLuvah Magistrate Posts: 3254 From: So Nor Cal Registered: Sep 2003 Hey: the lip-synching thing is a RUMOR that you are certainly allowed to believe, but you are not allowed to discuss it HERE. OMFG Have you guys listened to the chain reaction clip? What the hell is wrong with Cain & Schon? Why are they continuing to ruin Journey's name & legacy into the ground? For the life of me I can not understand what could be going on through that lump three feet above their waist? How can they let things go so far? I knew that the RnRHOF was not going to happen which served as a reunion of some sorts in itself. I am seriously depressed over this catastrophe.

So fans can "believe it", just NOT "talk about it" over there, that is hilarious!!!
That's what I think Sparkle, Neal's silence tells me something is up, he would have been speaking up by now , IF it wasn't true. Letting this go on & on is only making it worse for the band!
And hey sexxymofo, it is really sad that the current Journey would lower it's standard's, so low that they would resort to lip synching...... THANK GOD, we all still have our GREAT MUSIC from the Perry /Journey years that we can still highly respect as a GREAT band!!!!!

I really do hope that this isn´t true because if it was,I would sell my copies of Arrival and Generations immediately. I remember back in the early 80´s when Electric Light Orchestra did a lip synch gig somewhere in the states, don´t remember where it was (Chicago I believe) but the fans hated it and the band was accused of false promotion because it was supposed to be a live show and not a playback/singback kinda gig. If someone would´ve said 23 years ago that Journey would be signed to a small label (Frontiers) in Europe, being the support act to Def Leppard on their U.S tour and had a singer that imitated Perry but did lip synched shows - I would say that he´s a crazy sonofabitch but hey - now it seems that we´re pretty close to the painful truth.
This is a wild idea from me but what if Perry decided on touring again with this line up:Steve Smith,Gregg Rolie,Randy Jackson and Lincoln Brewster? And played only Journey songs, then Schon and co would be in trouble :-)

Kaj, if Perry went on tour alone singing the phone book, Neal and Co. would be in trouble!! I think with all of the tapes and all of the different comparisons by different people that are being made there is just no doubt that they are deceiving their fans and have been for quite some time. Then you have the still shots with the mic constantly glued to his mouth. The people in the UK are the ones that they've screwed over the worst. They waited for 30 years to see Journey then got a lip synched concert. To me the most telling thing is that Neal has remained silent. There is no question that the band knows about this. I'm sure the interview with Rockline will be staged with the BTrs calling in and asking all the "right" questions just like it was the last time Neal was on. Neal and Jon have both commented in interviews that their fans just don't "get" their new music. Now this is the ultimate insult. Maybe they are right...some of the fans just don't get it. I really do hope that this isn´t true because if it was,I would sell my copies of Arrival and Generations immediately. Fine, then please add to the discussion. I want the discussion to stay on topic...not to devolve into your battles with individuals.

Hi all. I come in peace....I swear. So tell me, what do you all think? I think from everything I've listened to in the past couple weeks, it isn't lookin' too good for them. He's obviously had some trouble recently. I've read where he started out Faithfully and asked the audience to help him because he was losing it. That Manchester you-tube video clip is a real show-stopper, eh? You know with all this speculation out there they will be much more careful. It really doesn't matter what they do now. I've already seen what they did last year and that was enough for me to form an opinion.

Dean, Stop being such a drama QUEEN (you biatch ) Sorry Arden I couldn't help myself I think you have some good evidence of the fraud that's taking place here. I sat there listening to all the audio you provided and it brought tears to my eyes just thinking how they did away with Steve Perry and now look what they done went and did found someone of the GAPwhom by the way can't sing or looks nothing like our Steve Perry just to make that almighty buck. I don't understand it this Agueri man can not sing ANY of the material live why on earth tour if all they are doing is pushing play on the tape. I wouldn't want to spend my hard earned money on a concert to be decieved WTF? I must ask you Dean why do you insist on having Neal, Cain or Journey management contact you? Are you going to make some kinda monetary deal and make all this disappear? Are you selling out? I like to know if you have spoken to major media about this like take Howard Stern, FoxNews, Smokinggun for instance other than the Perry sites and MR board? Also how do you know that Perry knows and or Neal knows? Does this mean you have been in contact or have been slapped with some kind of order or lawsuit?

I just went back and listened to Chain Reaction. I sit here and can't even come up with an adjective to describe how bad it is when he actually sings at the end. How could anyone with either common sense or pride do that to themselves or the fans that just paid good money to hear them?

where is that chain reaction clip? what link? i would like to hear it. i noticed that milli vanilli was brought up in the discussion and I must say that they were successful until the media discovered their fraud. then the real milli vanilli released an album and it simply didn´t sell . they hired models to be in the video coz the people with the real voices werent sexy enuff ,I´m glad Journey hasn´t anything to do with sex appeal - it´s all about the music. so I think Neal should go public and tell everybody that SA ain´t lipsynching or vice versa.

it doesn´t sound too good at the end of the song, this only shows how tough it is to sing these SP melodies. i know that every singer can have a bad day but if I get to hear more of these clips from different shows with SA,it will truly hurt my Journey soul!

I think it's just another slap in the face for their loyal fans who are still shelling out for over-priced concert tickets. Stuff like that is the reason I'm no longer a fan. (Well, that and the crappy music lol) But it's also sad in a way- from what I hear Augeri is a decent guy and used to be a fairly good singer. I mean, if you were folding sweaters for a living and got asked to join a legendary band, what would you do? It evidently didn't take them long to ruin his voice. IMHO, they should have just changed the name of the band and went with Augeri's strengths instead of wanting him to do the impossible - fill Perry's shoes. Wonder what Perry thinks about all this? I'll bet he's totally disgusted.

The blog just came up for me. Perhaps you should "sticky" the clips to the top of the blog?? Every time you post, you are bumping the clips further off the page. You need them to be the first and only thing people see when they click on your link. To avoid the spammers it might be time to remove the "comments" section. You all check out my Blog? I am not scheduled to go to any of the new Journey line up shows this year BUT if I were these are the things I would look for if I wanted to find out what was going on. First off, the house sound board, Sit or Stand right behind the guy who is mixing sound. You can see what knobs he is turning and you can also hear what he hears thru his monitor right there vs what the crowd hears. Watch for him cuing the vocal mike when a song ends so you can hear the guy talk, but then if he reaches and mixes it back down when the song starts and the crowd or song intro starts. - that's a dead giveaway something is going on. You can also hear stage ambiance, and see if the vocals mesh with that. The absolute best way is to be at the monitor board off to the side of the stage, or it may be on stage. That guy will be mixing stage monitors for all the guys and he will solo them from time to time to check to make sure guys are hearing what they want to hear. Those mixes usually are dry, so you can really tell if they are canned or live. Also if anyway possible, try to view or get into the soundcheck. The head sound engineer will have to make sure that the tracks are mixed and coming through the P.A. balanced like he wants, so he will play them by themselves. If you hear vocals and there is no one onstage it's a dead giveaway that it is a track they are playing. Lots of bands use tracks as fill ins, strings, extra percussion etc to make a song sound like the CD, yet if they are mixing in a vocal track those are ways to spot it. Just my two cents after sitting right next to the soundboard of the Solomon Burke show, I could see and hear him mixing everything in as it was live, and no Solomon didn't lip anything that night but he did mess with the levels to get everyone in balance and it was easy to see what he was doing and the board guy even had small monitors there so I could hear better individual mixes of music standing there than I could in the crowd which was just loud and all together... Bill, thanks for the heads up. I just bought a ticket right behind the mixing board. It's all academic now anyway. I already know what's up.
Too bad they don't know what show I am going to, eh?

hey,i finally took some time to download the files you have uploaded to yousendit.com deano, thanks. i have listened to both the real live ones (scary) as well as the faked ones where the vocals are exactly the same even if there´s 5 years between the versions. oh my god,i could never believe how this band could treat their fans in this lying way. my heroes,my inspiration.......all my dedication to this band and what do I get back? if i wanted to go to a lip synched concert,i might as well go and see britney spears or cher but Journey should always play live. if Augeri cannot do it anylonger,fine....stop touring. one of these days, this will be official and fans will be mad. what the heck,i think i will start doing news features at my own website www.melodic.net where we have 14000 visitors per month. always a start.
